Delight partII

by Asaf Aharonson

2019

»Delight, Part II«is the second part in a trilogy that draws its inspiration from the painting »The Garden of Earthly Delights« by 15th century painter Hieronymus Bosch. Following a recent renewal of enthusiasm for dancing – a dance renaissance – this choreography aims to integrate different dichotomies such as pleasure/pain, predator/prey and heaven/hell. With giddiness and awkwardness, the performers enter ancient mythologies such as the story of Adam and Eve as well as nymph lore in order to seriously consider an aesthetic of delight.

Beyond Constructed Remains

by Shiran Eliaserov

2019

Beyond Constructed Remains is a continuation of Shiran Eliaserov’s research around the potentialities of myth-making through the excavation of metaphor, performative action, and object-centered social relations. In this work, presented in the gym of Hausburgschule, Eliaserov expands her research on rope practices into the realm of sports training, exposing their possible origins as survival techniques, and questioning what can still be learned from them today. Beyond Constructed Remains is a collaborative effort towards a sphere that will host participants and performers in a shared transformative process.i

Nesting

by Shelley Etkin

2019

Nesting offers an environment to journey into internal landscapes. A nest-like structure will inhabit the remaining ruins of the Franziskaner Klosterkirche, hidden in plain sight in the centre of Berlin. A curious space that evokes the imagination through sounds and sensations. Seemingly a basket, cave, womb, nest, or spaceship where one may be lulled into lucid dreaming. In the exchange between outer perceptions and inner experience, Nesting proposes a temporary ground to imaginatively experience oneself as being part of land.

Oscillations

by Mor Demer

2017

Oscillations is a joint universe of solitude, a performance for three bodies becoming a collective body that is excessively human, and as such, never fully human. Expanding upon Demer’s ongoing artistic research into human's processes of partnership, attachment and transformation, Oscillations offers us a proposal to inhabit fresh expressions of cohabitation, intimacy, affect and affection. Somehow we’re alive at the same time.

We summon them to us, through us,
with body and voice of trembling flesh.

voices upon voices upon voices.
